We want to acknowledge the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot Confederacy) and the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta. This includes the Blackfoot First Nation tribes of Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Stoney Nakoda First Nations tribes of Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Wesley, and the Tsuut'ina First Nation. The City of Calgary is also home to the historic Northwest Métis and the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3. Calgary (and our offices in Inglewood) are situated on land adjacent to where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. The traditional Blackfoot name of this confluence is “Mohkinstsis”.
