This Civil Engineering Technologist role is a permanent full-time position which includes the following tasks:

• Supervise or conduct field surveys, inspections or technical investigations;

• Outdoor fieldwork in Calgary and outlying areas;

• General civil, stormwater, and wastewater engineering analysis and design, specific to the introduction of nature-based engineering solutions;

• Production of engineering deliverables such as technical reports, letters/memos, drawings, specifications, and construction contract drawings;

• Project Management of small to medium sized civil engineering projects from conceptual through construction and commissioning;

• Preparation of project schedules;

• Co-ordinate projects with multidisciplinary teams;

• Experience working with First Nations clients;

• Accountable for using task management tools to support personal task organization (i.e., is your to do list currently up-to-date?)

• Accountable for personal time management including the use of business management tools such as timesheets, sprint boards, and other similar tools related to time/task management.

• Responsible for providing feedback on design processes and tools.

• Other tasks as required.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Experienced Civil Engineering Technologist, with minimum 3 years of direct experience in civil underground infrastructure and/or stormwater/wastewater and/or process design. The emphasis for this position is on process design, design coordination and project management skills to develop water and wastewater treatment plant design activities involving a technical design team of various levels and disciplines of engineers and CAD designers.

REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma in Environmental Engineering Technology program of a minimum of 2 years from an accredited institute.

• Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) certification, or equivalent.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in industry.

• Understanding of stormwater management best practices and regulations;

• Highly skilled in basic office products, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.

• Experience with PCSWMM, Plant3D, HydroCAD, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and/or GIS.

• Strong project and task management capabilities alongside proven team leadership and collaboration.

• Excellent English skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Willingness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges.

• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

• Ability to self-manage time and tasks.

JOB DETAILS

The Civil Engineering Technologist will work a 36-hour compressed work week, however, there may be some overtime and on-call periods required. All work is performed in the English language. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical coverage, flex/personal days and group RRSP. The wage for this position is to be negotiated within a range of $40.00 to $55.00/hour.
